Do my customers need to pay import duties or VAT, and how should I handle pricing?Updated 8 days ago

Not always — it depends on your customers’ location and the shipping method used.

Since all Pixelmade products are made and shipped directly from our manufacturing partners in China, customs fees may apply based on the destination country’s import rules.

At Pixelmade, we’re committed to providing a smooth, surprise-free delivery experience. In most cases, our shipping prices already include duties and VAT — meaning your customers won’t need to pay.

U.S. Customers

All shipping prices to the U.S. already include import duties and taxes — no extra fees upon delivery.

Even though the De Minimis exemption (formerly allowing duty-free imports under $800 USD) was recently removed, we’ve got you covered. Pixelmade handles all customs clearance and duty payments, so your customers can enjoy a seamless delivery experience.

Customers Outside the U.S.

For most destinations, Air Economy and Ocean Shipping prices already include applicable import duties or VAT.

If Air Express shipping is selected, the local customs authority may charge duties or VAT depending on the destination country and its laws. These fees are determined by local regulations and are not collected by Pixelmade.

In such cases, customers may be asked to pay these fees directly to their local customs agency or delivery carrier upon arrival.

Tips for Sellers

  • There’s no need to enable VAT or duty collection at checkout — Pixelmade covers this where applicable.
  • If you sell in regions where customs fees are common, consider including those costs in your retail prices for transparency.
  • When in doubt, check with a local tax advisor or use a regional pricing calculator.
